It’s 2022 – Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a restful Christmas! It was so exciting to have our special Christmas events back in-person in December 2021 and we hope those of you who attended enjoyed it too. It was great to have some visitors with us and to see so many of our church members involved with all ages getting stuck in! Well done to everyone!

We’ve now moved into 2022 and we’re excited to see all that God will do among us in the year ahead! Our hope is that the challenges of the pandemic will soon fade and that we will all be able to move forward with less concern and without restrictions as we seek to further the work here at Christchurch Christian Centre.

As we start 2022, some COVID restrictions and guidelines are still being followed here at CCC due to the ongoing concern of the Omicron variant, however in-person services are still happening every Sunday at 10:30am with some social distancing measures and the wearing of masks still being encouraged. Refreshments have temporarily been put on hold as we wait to see what is announced in the weeks ahead. For those of you still not able to attend, we are doing our best to maintain an online service at the same time to provide something for you and to help us all stay connected.

If you’re able, please do follow us on our social media channels to keep up to date with what’s happening here!

We look forward to connecting with you all in 2022 and pray that you will know His presence with you this year.

Sing again!

The time has finally come! After 16 months of restrictions, we are now permitted to sing again in church! This is a moment we have been longing for and a moment that our worship team have also been very excited about.

On Wednesday 21st of July we held our first Praise and Prayer meeting back in the church and the sound of voices singing was cherished by all present. It was an intimate time of praise and worship and God clearly spoke with an identical word coming at the same time yet separately through spontaneous worship and a word brought by Pastor Dave. The Holy Spirit clearly moved among us in a gentle way with an encouragement to draw near, to long after Him, an encouragement to draw closer, not forceful but a bekonning from the Father to His children gathered. There is power when we gather together and raise our voices in praise and give Jesus the worship and glory due His name!

Sunday 25th July was the first Sunday we have been able to sing together as a larger congregation and it was fantastic!

We have made the decision to continue wearing masks inside for now, but that won’t stop us singing!

Join us at CCC on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and become a part of the song!

All Church meetings cancelled due to Coronavirus

Due to the coronavirus outbreak and under guidance from the UK Government, we have suspended all CCC meetings including Sunday services from today – Tuesday 17th March 2020.

Please see Pastor Dave’s email relating to this by clicking on this link

We know this is difficult but we are working very hard at online and other options to help us stay connected in the weeks ahead. Following this post, Pastor Dave will be taking over this blog to communicate directly with the church.

Please make sure you have subscribed to our email list for regular contact and updates from Pastor Dave, and also make use of our new Church Online page which has links and resources for us all.

God bless,

AGM 2018

On Saturday 1st December we had our Annual General Meeting which was well attended by the members of the church.  We enjoyed fish and chips together in the hall prior to the meeting which was a great social time.

Appointment of Deacons

This year’s AGM was a voting year and all of our current leaders allowed their names to go forward for re-election with nobody new standing for the first time.  The result was that all were re-elected and there was therefore no change for the next two year period.

Finances

Finances were presented as usual with some questions being answered. As was said at the meeting, we are grateful to God for His provision over the year and thankful to our members and regular supporters for your very generous giving both financially and practically toward the work of the church here in Christchurch. Your generosity not only helps us locally, but supports ministry that is far reaching. Thank you!

Vision and Purpose

Pastor Dave presented in more detail what he believes the purpose and vision of the church is moving forward into 2019. He unpacked this even further, also giving members time to contribute some ideas toward a particular part of this more focused vision.

Retirement of Assistant Pastor

One of the most significant items to conclude the meeting was the announcement that Pastor Dudley Powell was now retiring from his position as Assistant Pastor after approximately 15 years in this role.  We are very grateful to him and his wife Jenny for their contribution to the pastoral work of the church, prayer ministry and also for so much practical work that has been organised and carried out on the building during those years. They were both presented with a gift and our gratitude was made very clear to them both. Although Dudley is no longer officially our Assistant Pastor, we’re quite sure he’ll continue to be quite involved in the life of the church. Thank you Dudley and Jenny for all of your hard work!
