Why Jesus?

The message Christians bring, is that God loved the world so much, He gave His Son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross, so that whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but will have everlasting life.

On the Cross Jesus’ blood was shed for us. In His sacrificial death, Jesus took our place and He received the punishment we deserve because of our sin. He then rose from death on the third day as was prophesied hundreds of years earlier and was recorded in the Old Testament.

The Bible shows us what was obtained for us by Christ’s death on our behalf. In the New Testament when the Bible speaks of, “The blood of Christ,” or “the blood,” the reference nearly always refers to Jesus’ death on the Cross.

“Jesus took our place and He received the punishment we deserve because of our sin”.

(NIV) John 3 v 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
