New Here?

Welcome

This may well be your first connection with our church here in Christchurch and we would just like to welcome you here and hope you find it easy to get the information you’re looking for.  You would always be made to feel welcome at our church and we hope you will come and visit us one day soon.

Just in case you are unsure of our location, Christchurch is in Dorset, neighbouring Bournemouth on the UK’s south coast just minutes away from the beach. We’re about 6 miles east of Bournemouth’s town centre, which is only a 10 to 15 minute drive, and 25 miles west of Southampton.

So what do we believe?

Christchurch Christian Centre is part of the UK’s Elim Pentecostal Movement which has over 550 UK based churches alone.  We are Christian, bible believing, followers of Jesus Christ.  We believe the bible as originally given to be the fully inspired and infallible Word of God.

More information about Elim can be found here if you want to know more.

Our Mission Statement

We live to glorify God and make disciples as Jesus said.

Our Core Values

All our service and ministry will be on the basis that we maintain the following values as we serve God.

1. To know and love God in a deep and developing way.

2. To seek to love one another as Jesus commanded.

3. To make every effort to keep unity within the Church.

4. To be continually filled with the Holy Spirit for service and holy living.

5. To seek to have an unbiased love and concern for all people.

Sundays at Christchurch Christian Centre

Sunday Mornings (click here for more information)

This is our main event of the week.  The band leads us in worship which can be a mixture of modern contemporary songs and some of the older favourites. Our band is currently made up of either Guitar/Keys, Drums and Bass. Some musicians are involved in the children’s work so this varies.

We also have communion in the morning most weeks with the bread (broken crackers) and individual small cups for the wine (red grape juice) so there is no sharing of one main cup. This is optional so you can just let it pass you by if you’d prefer not to take it. That’s fine and those serving will just move on.

There is always a message from the Pastor or appointed speaker with an inspiring message to help us in our faith.

Refreshments are served after the morning and evening service in the hall and we would welcome you to stay behind for a few minutes to join us for a drink and to introduce yourself.

Sunday Evenings (click here for more information)

This is our second service of the day which usually has a lower number in attendance but it is a great opportunity to worship again together and look at the Word.  This service is sometimes a Gospel service and is always followed by refreshments in the hall for a time to catch up after a busy week.

How to find us?

Your Questions…

   Where can I park?

As we are located in the town centre we have to make use of the local car parks which are all pay and display.  Click on the parking sign to find a map of the local car parks.  Most people park behind the church in Saxon Square and then access the church from the rear doors or walk down the alleyway into Millhams Street to enter via the main entrance. Don’t forget to bring some change with you for the machine. It’s currently about £2.60 for three hours.  Just look for the spire and you’ll find us!

What is there for my children?

We have a fantastic Sunday School for the children in school years R up to 3 and then for class 4 upwards we have a separate kids club called Glo.  All of the children spend a few minutes together before separating into their different groups.

These activities are all held in the upstairs rooms above the church hall. The children all stay in the main service for the first 15 to 20 minutes and then we make it clear from the front when it’s time for them to leave.  If you’d prefer to keep them with you in the service then that’s fine too.  We are realistic about these things!

For those with very small children, we have a carpeted area just inside the main entrance with overflow speakers and a selection of toys where you can occupy your children if necessary without missing the message. We do not currently have an official crèche available.

What should I wear?

You can come in your jeans or your suit.  What do you prefer?  We are of mixed age so some come smart and others come casual.

What else do you do?

We have many other activities during the week including special prayer meetings, various small groups, community activities etc.  Please go to the Activities tab at the top of this page to find out more.

If you have questions that are not answered here on our website, then why not get in touch and we’ll do our best to help you.
